My identity 🥳

What happens when you put together a maker, a cocktail bartender, a gamer, and a tech enthusiast?

As an Industrial Designer, I am deeply motivated by the possibilities of enhancing human health and well-being through the fusion of healthcare, data science, medical technology, and AI. My journey has equipped me with extensive skills in agile project management, problem-solving, and a collaborative approach, crucial to innovating in the multifaceted healthcare sector.

My keen aesthetic sense and proficiency in rapid and high-fidelity prototyping allow me to navigate the intersection of form and function, all while centering patient needs. Inspiration for me is multi-sourced - from engineers pioneering medical breakthroughs to AI specialists advancing machine learning, feeding into a multidimensional approach to problem-solving.

My passion for integrating interdisciplinary approaches was particularly evident during my internship at Philips Design, where I had the opportunity to work on a project focused on the role of intelligent data trackers in personalized healthcare. This experience helped me develop my understanding of the importance of data in informing healthcare decisions and taught me the value of a design mindset in addressing complex challenges in the field of healthcare.

Creativity lies at the core of my professional identity, with roots extending beyond the realm of healthcare and medtech. As a mixologist and cocktail bartender, I focus on experimenting with flavors and presentations to craft sensory experiences for customers. Similarly, my passion for fantasy tabletop gaming has led me to create a venture centered around building handcrafted gaming products. Both these experiences underscore my ability to think outside the box, illustrating the diverse, innovative lens I bring to my design work.

As I move forward, I see myself as a translator between diverse disciplines, especially during the crucial stages of ideation, concept creation, and prototyping. My unique combination of skills and my passion for bringing about meaningful change equips me well for this task, and positions me to make significant contributions to the future of healthcare.

My vision and mission 🎯

Innovative Design should offer practical, concrete solutions, that have a visible result, to the problems that impact a large population.

My vision for the role of design in the world is one in which it is used as a powerful tool to improve the quality of life for those who need it most and to advance our society as a whole. I believe that we have a responsibility to work towards this goal, as it is also in our own self-interest as a society. When everyone is well off, we are better able to achieve truly great accomplishments.

With this in mind, I see design as more than just the creation of aesthetic chairs and gimmicky products. Instead, I believe that design should be about creating integrated systems and services that use technology in innovative ways to shape the world around us. Design should not only criticize and challenge the status quo, but it should also offer practical, concrete solutions that have a visible impact on the world.

This is especially true in fields such as medical technologies and innovation, where the needs of the user must be kept at the forefront. Design has the potential to revolutionize the way that care is delivered and to improve patient outcomes. By using data and other tools to gather information about patients, designers can identify patterns and trends that can inform the development of personalized care pathways. For example, designers have developed wearable devices that allow patients to monitor their own health data and share it with their healthcare providers, enabling more personalized care. Similarly, designers have created intuitive user interfaces for electronic medical records systems, which can help to streamline the process of gathering and analyzing patient data.

In my work, I am committed to using a design mindset to create meaningful change and solve emerging problems that require interdisciplinary approaches. Whether it is designing new medical technologies that improve patient outcomes or addressing monitoring noise around newborns through AI, I believe that design has the power to make a real difference in the world.
