My path throughout my Bachelor's 🗺

My Bachelor's journey has been pivotal in shaping my professional identity and honing my skills. Over the course of three years, I embraced the freedom to chart my own path, gravitating towards areas that sparked excitement and aligning with individuals who inspired me to broaden my perspectives.

Each project and course clarified my professional aspirations, eventually unveiling my interest in medical design, technology, and innovation.

My skillset grew considerably during this period, spanning areas from structured research to creative workshop facilitation and interactive prototype building. These broad competencies were drawn together by my distinct focus on healthcare-oriented design, reflected in chosen project squads and extracurricular activities like the project with Philips AVENT, the HONORS Academy Health track, an internship at Philips Research, and a final bachelor project with the Health Squad.

This progression, echoed in the enhanced quality of my deliverables over time, illustrates my development in various expertise areas and the growth of my professional capabilities. This foundation was integral to my later focus on medical design in my Master's program.

Mastering Industrial Design

The Master's program served as an impactful continuation of my educational journey, amplifying my interest in medical design and enabling a deeper dive into technology, data, and innovation. This phase was characterized by a conscious and methodical expansion of my expertise areas, which collectively steered my focus towards the intersection of healthcare and technology.

The Business and Entrepreneurship competency became a necessity due to my involvement in my own company. Although it was not my primary interest, it proved instrumental for project feasibility, understanding stakeholder needs, and maintaining the viability of my own company.

In Creativity and Aesthetics, I leveraged my long-standing passion for visual arts, photography, and design, applying these skills to create intuitive and visually pleasing prototypes and user interfaces for a noise monitoring system for the NICU in my Final Master Project.

For Math, Data, and Programming, I built on my existing skills, intensifying this focus given its relevance to my healthcare and technology direction. Additionally, I had the rewarding opportunity to share my knowledge as a Teaching Assistant for the Programming course.

Technology and Realization saw me diversifying my hands-on capabilities. I ventured into learning new skills, from operating laser cutters to mastering the art of silicone pouring and epoxy resin, which greatly enriched the execution phase of my Final Master Project.

Lastly, User and Society, though initially my least developed area, became crucial in shaping my approach to design. Through honing skills in user interviews and observations, I nurtured an empathetic design perspective, ensuring my creations were tuned to user needs and societal contexts.

In essence, my Master's journey was a concentrated period of skill augmentation and focus refinement, propelling me towards my goal of intersecting medical design with data and technology. The breadth and depth of this experience have primed me to tackle the complex challenges at the intersection of healthcare and technology in my future endeavors.
